Learning with Leiden Colleages

Today and tomorrow, Phil and I are running workshops on assessment working with colleagues from Leiden University through the agency of Utrecht University. It’s lovely to work with Hetty Grunefeld again, who runs programmes promoting excellent teaching with change agents and managers at various universities in the Netherlands. Today I am working with the Post Graduate Certificate students at Liverpool John Moores university on assessment. We plan to play the Egg Game (see an earlier post on my website), use the  attached ‘pros and cons’ table of assessment methods and also some of the slides in this presentation. This week Phil and I are spending three days running workshops and meeting staff at Cork Institute of Technology. Today I ran a workshop on ‘Making Learning Happen’ for which the slides are attached here. Loving Learning at Leeds Met

On Thursday  November 8th I had a productive and positive day at Leeds Met meeting with Teacher Fellow colleagues talking about getting published and doing a PhD by publication and then an open  session on Masters level learning. Graduation joy

Yesterday we saw my son Matt graduate not just with a first, but also the ‘outstanding achievement’ award for his programme area. No wonder he looks so cheerful.
